THIS SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS STARTED AS AN ATTEMPT TO CAPTURE NATURE, PEOPLE, MOMENTS, AND ROUTINES AROUND ME, AND ENDED UP AS A RECORD OF EXPLORING THE UNFAMILIAR AND FASCINATING WORLD BY MYSELF, EMBRACING LONELINESS (WHICH IS VERY DIFFERENT WHEN YOU MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY), SOMETIMES FEELING LIKE A LOST KID WITH A FILM CAMERA.
THE SEA, SHADOWS OF TREES AND SEAGULLS BECAME SOME KIND OF ANCHORS THAT HELPED ME TO FEEL LESS LIKE A STRANGER IN UNCOMMON PLACES.
I KEPT NOTES OF WORDS, SENTENCES, AND PARAGRAPHS I PICKED UP HERE AND THERE. SOME OF THEM SOUNDED INTERESTING, FUN OR STRANGE TO ME, SOME HELPED ME TO DESCRIBE FEELINGS AND HOW I SEE THE WORLD AROUND ME + A FEW WORDS OR SAYINGS I DIDN’T KNOW BEFORE. I USED SOME OF THEM FOR THE TITLES.
